0.42.0-beta1 -> no matching package found. — magento/sample-data 0.42.0-beta2 requires magento/sample-data-media

0.42.0-beta1 -> no matching package found. — Installation request for magento/sample-data 0.42.0-beta2 -> satisfiable by magento/sample-data[0.42.0-beta2]. – Ranjit Feb 26 ’16 at 12:25

Install sample data modules:

Add dependencies to the composer.json :

Enable sample data modules (it’s important!):

You can use command line to install sample data by going to magento 2 root folder. Then,

download sample data: $php bin/magento sampledata:deploy

install sample data: $php bin/magento setup:upgrade

I just ran through this: The sample data won’t work if your on the development branch which is the default on github. Grab the master instead.

Then update your composer.json with the sample data package. From the Docs ->

Add «minimum-stability»: «beta», before license which now looks like

And run composer config repositories.magento composer http://packages.magento.com Then composer require magento/sample-data:

And now that your sample data package is installed, update your database with

/magento setup:upgrade this command not working. please help to me how to can work ? – Suresh Chikani Sep 23 ’15 at 13:02

First install magento2. After just run following command to install sample data.

1) Goto your installation directory:

3) Now login to magentocommerce to get username and password

4) Go to developers->Secure keys, Generate new key or use existing key

-> Use public key as Username and Private key as Password

5) Now run this command for recompile code, upgrade database and clear cache

Now run this command for reindex

At last give permission of files and folders

you can use this alternative :

you’ll be prompted for username/password : use public_key/private_key from your magento marketplace account

This is simple you can use by the composer , just need go on the root directory and

use below command to download sample data:

you can also clean the cache or do re-indexing if data not showing on the website .

using below commands : php bin/magneto indexer:reindex

Magento sample-data installation after magento setup(working in master branch — Solution works for old version — beta version).

Command is working like

Command is like not working.

Deploy Sample Data from Composer Repository

In the Magento root directory, run following command:

This command collects the dependencies from the suggest sections of the composer.json files of modules, which suggest to install sample data

To deploy sample data from the Magento composer repository without Magento CLI:

Specify sample data packages in the require section of the root composer.json file, for example:

Where version is the version of the packages; it should correspond to the version of the Magento instance.

Step 1-: download the source code from github.

Step 2-: Extract the source code on your web root.

Step 3-: Install dependencies via composer command.

Step 4-: Set the require permission and ownership.

Magento2 instance is ready to install. Open the web browser, use you server ip or localhost.

If you do not have Magento repository in your composer.json file than the above code will not work. Try running

composer config repositories.magento composer https://repo.magento.com

to add a magento repository in your composer.json file and than run

php magento sampledata:deploy

Run Following command in terminal

php bin/magento sampledata:deploy //to deploy sample data in magento2

php bin/magento setup:upgrade //to upgrade modules and to run setup files

php bin/magento setup:di:compile //to compile files

php bin/magento indexer:reindex //index flat tables and product price

php bin/magento setup:static-content:deploy // to regenerate static files

Give Full permission to Var Folder 777.

I struggled for ages with this until I used this method to install sample data. what a tool I am 😉

The following will solve your problem

make sure you’re in you Magento install directory and you have write access: then run step by step

php bin/magento sampledata:deploy

php bin/magento setup:upgrade

if you don’t have your keys please click authenticate and follow to guide to obtain your keys

if you get the following error

[Composer\Downloader\TransportException] The ‘https://repo.magento.com/packages.json’ URL required authentication. You must be using the interactive console to authenticate

then check which directory you in, if your are in the magento installed directory then run

and php bin/magento setup:upgrade

Step 1: Magento CLI Make sure that Magento CLI path is exported. From store’s webroot, Issue the following command if Magento CLI’s path is not exported.

Step 2: Installation of Sample Data Change your current directory to Magento’s Webroot and execute the following command:

There may be a chance that you will face error about URL authentication to repo.magento.com. If this is true, then execute “composer update” command. It will ask you for the username password which we’ve created from Magento Connect Account section.

Step 3: Finalize Installation We will now use “magento setup:upgrade” command which will re-compile the code and will clear the cache.

Your Magento store is now ready for you to start testing with sample data. You can add products, delete products, try out the payment systems, and test your server load as well. If you have any issue in this process, you can comment below and I would be glad to help you out with the issue.

Magento 2

На закладке «DOWNLOAD» в разделе «Full Release (ZIP with no sample data)» у последней версии (ver 2.3.2) выбрать тип скачиваемого файла (например: Magento Open Source 2.3.2.zip) и нажать кнопку «DOWNLOAD». Можно скачать версию из раздела «Full Release with Sample Data (ZIP with sample data)» (это та же версия, но с примерами данных).

Magento 2.

Server error!

The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request. Either the server is overloaded or there was an error in a CGI script.

Agree and Set Up Magento»

Magento 2.

Line 157: ;extension=php_intl.dll

Magento sample data includes a sample store, complete with more than 250 products (about 200 of them are configurable products), categories, promotional price rules, CMS pages, banners, and so on. Sample data uses the Luma theme on the storefront.

Installing sample data is optional.

Technically, sample data is a set of regular Magento modules, which can be deployed and installed together with the Magento instance, or later in the scope of upgrade.

You can deploy sample data from one of the following sources:

  • From the Magento composer repository, optionally using Magento CLI
  • From the Magento GitHub repository

If your Magento code base was cloned from the master branch, you can use either source of the sample data. If it was cloned from the develop branch, use the GitHub repository and choose to get sample data modules from the develop branch.

Deploy Sample Data from Composer Repository

To deploy sample data from the Magento composer repository using Magento CLI:

  1. If your Magento instance is already installed, skip this step. Otherwise, in the Magento root directory, run: # composer install .
  2. In the Magento root directory, run: # bin/magento sampledata:deploy . This command collects the dependencies from the suggest sections of the composer.json files of modules, which suggest to install sample data (like Magento_Catalog , Magento_Sales , and so on).

To deploy sample data from the Magento composer repository without Magento CLI:

  1. Specify sample data packages in the require section of the root composer.json file, for example:

Where is the version of the packages; it should correspond to the version of the Magento instance.

Each package corresponds to a sample data module. The complete list of available modules can be viewed in the [sample data GitHub repository] (https://github.com/magento/magento2-sample-data/tree/develop/app/code/Magento)

  1. To update the dependencies, in the Magento root directory, run: # composer update

Deploy Sample Data from GitHub Repository

To deploy sample data from the GitHub repository:

  1. Clone sample data from https://github.com/magento/magento2-sample-data . If your Magento instance was cloned from the master branch, choose the master branch when cloning sample data; choose the develop branch if Magento was cloned from develop .
  2. Link the sample data and your Magento instance by running: # php -f /dev/tools/build-sample-data.php — —ce-source=»

Once the sample data is deployed, it will be installed automatically when you install or upgrade your Magento instance either by using the Magento Setup Wizard or from the command line.

To remove the sample data modules from the code base, run one of the following commands from the Magento root directory:

  • If sample data was deployed from the composer repository, run: # bin/magento sampledata:remove
  • If sample data was deployed from the GitHub repository and linked to your Magento instance, run: # php -f /dev/tools/build-sample-data.php – —command=unlink —ce-source=»

To delete all the products and other entities provided by the sample data modules, delete the database and reinstall Magento with a clean database.

If you have deleted certain entities provided by sample data and want to restore them, take the following steps:

  1. From the Magento root directory, run the following command: # bin/magento sampledata:reset
  2. Upgrade Magento as usual.

The deleted sample data entities will be restored. Those entities, which were changed, will preserve these changes and will not be restored to the default view.

You may get this error if it does not have permission.

2.3. Running the Magento Setup Wizard

The Setup Wizard is a multi-page wizard that enables you to go back and forward one page at a time. You cannot skip pages, and you must enter all required information on every single page before you can proceed to the next page.

    • Enter the following URL in your browser address bar: http://www.example.com/magento2 . example.com is your domain name such as: localhost, localhost.com, 127.0.0.1 or your staging domain. magento2 is Magento 2 folder in htdocs Usually, it is http://localhost/magento2 .

Important!: Use Skip dependency check for individual modules with caution. We recommend against it because a typical reason for this error is you manually edited the deployment configuration. Editing the deployment configuration is not recommended because future Magento software updates can undo your changes.

    2.3.5. Create Admin Account

Now enter admin information such as

    • New Username
    • New E-Mail
    • New Password
    • Confirm Password
    • Then click Next
    2.3.6. Install

After completing all previous steps in the Setup Wizard, click Install Now .

Installation Success The message Success will be displayed to indicate a successful installation.

    Step 3: Check the result

Now go to the frontend and backend to see the result
